UNIVERSITY GUIDE BOOKLET

This brief was to create a Freshers Week guide that Universities and Colleges could send to their pupils before they arrive on campus. It was important that the booklet was informative, clear to read but also visually interesting and inviting to encourage students to read it. The strong brand identity such as the playful fonts and illustrations can be used on social media campaigns as well as print.

TOKYO 2020

YEAR: 2021                     UNIVERSITY PROJECT                         PROJECT TYPE: GRAPHIC DESIGNER, POSTER                         ROLE: GRAPHIC DESIGNER

These posters were created as one of my 3rd year university projects surrounding the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The designs were inspired by the Japanese woodblock print using vibrant colours, organic patterns and textures. The composition of the two also have elements of 1930s Art- Deco travel posters by artists such as Roger Broders. I included iconic Japanese imagery such as the red sun and mount Fuji as they are so important to the country's history and culture.

These Posters were designed for the end of year graduate show at University. The theme the branding team went for was zines, focusing on collage and photocopying. We used the University colours and elements of our degree such as scrips, film tickets and reels. The image on the right became the front cover of our course graduation book.

RE-IMAGINED BOOK COVERS

I chose two of my favourite fiction books to re-imagine and design the front cover of. The first being Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin. My aim with this cover was to give the reader an insight of the main character’s personality without giving too much away. The second cover is Yann Martel’s Life of Pi, where I wanted to include east Asian style patterns on the front to suggest where the story is set.

BBC SILENT WITNESS

YEAR: 2019                     COMPANY: BBC STUDIOS                      PROJECT TYPE: GRAPHIC DESIGNER, POSTER                     ROLE: GRAPHIC DESIGNER

These posters were created for BBC's Silent Witness television drama. The posters were created to look like those you would find in a hospital or local GP surgery in which the episodes were set. The posters had to be clear, with bold titles so they could be seen through the camera clearly when the episode aired.
